What Is VR Gaming?

VR gaming is the term used to describe a new generation of computer games with virtual reality (VR) technology that gives players a truly immersive, first-person perspective of game action. Participants experience and influence the gaming environment through a variety of VR play devices and accessories, including VR headsets, sensor gloves, handheld controllers, and more.

VR games can be played on standalone systems, dedicated game consoles, or with the help of high-end laptops and computers that can power leading VR headphones like the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. The high-quality PSVR lenses can also be used to play VR games.

There is a subset of virtual reality games that use related technologies called Augmented Reality (AR) and Mixed Reality (MR), in which virtual elements are placed in the player's real-world view through headphones or a camera.

Accessories for virtual reality games

Headphones and glasses for VR games:

The most important accessory for VR gaming is the one you wear on your head to immerse yourself in the game. The headphone/glasses category is growing rapidly.

VR game controller:

The VR controller translates your physical actions into game performance. Like traditional video games, most VR games use a handheld controller (a joystick, gamepad, or even a glove) to aim, shoot, and send commands.

Gloves for VR games:

The touch-tipped VR gaming glove has enabled a new level of detail in today's latest VR games.
