An Introduction To The IOSH

International Organization for Standardization (IOS) is an intergovernmental organization with members in more than 150 countries who promote the creation, development, application and universal acceptance of international standards.

IOSH is responsible for the development of occupational safety and health (OSH) standards. IOSH also provides training and consults on occupational safety and health issues. You can hop over to this website to know more about IOSH training.

The IOSH courses cover topics such as: how to identify hazards; how to control and mitigate them; how to identify and respond to emergency situations. They also provide an overview of health and safety legislation in the UK and Europe, as well as guidance on managing risk.

The courses are ideal for employees who don't have specific responsibility for health and safety or those working in a lower level role. They can also help managers to improve their understanding of health and safety issues, and to take proactive measures to protect employees.

There are a variety of IOSH courses available, suitable for those who don't have specific responsibility for health and safety or are working in a lower-risk environment. The most common type of course is the Basic Safety Course, which covers topics such as first aid, fire safety and hazardous materials. Other courses cover specific areas of health and safety, such as environmental health and occupational health and safety.

Once you've completed a basic IOSH course, you'll be ready to start taking more specialized courses. These can focus on different types of work, such as construction, transportation or emergency services. You can also take courses to upgrade your skills and knowledge, such as an advanced first aid course or an occupational health and safety management course.
